1. What is the PatentEase program and what does it does?
PatentEase is a revolutionary new software product designed to allow you to generate your own patent application that can be submitted to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (PTO). PatentEase produces a multi-page, properly formatted patent application, including the necessary patent filing documents, that should be submitted to the PTO with your application. You have total control of the application process. You use your PC and your printer and, if you prefer, your own word processing software. PatentEase gives you exclusive One Click Claiming™, automatically generating the claims for your invention from the information you've already entered into the program. No other software has it! Another exclusive feature of PatentEase is the On-Screen Talking Tutor™ that actually talks to you in plain English and guides you through each step of the patent application process. It gives you the tools you need to protect your invention and paves the way for you to manufacture or license your invention.
2. Who should use PatentEase?
Individuals who are seeking to provide patent protection for their idea, with or without the aid of a lawyer, should consider PatentEase. On average, the PatentEase program can save you about $5,000 in attorney fees.
3. Is PatentEase easy to use?
PatentEase has several features that make it easy to use. First, the On-Screen Talking Tutor™ walks you through information and examples on each section of the patent application. A comprehensive user's guide and integrated help within the program make understanding how to use PatentEase very easy. PatentEase also contains sample patent applications that guide you through examples. PatentEase will even generate the claims, the most difficult part of a patent application, automatically.
4. How long does it take to write a patent application?
You should expect to spend a number of hours, days, or even weeks drafting your patent application, just as patent attorneys do. After all, you will be doing this yourself, eliminating the services of an attorney, and saving a great deal of money in the process. Isn't that worth some time?
5. What about drawings?
We have three ways to handle drawings: (a) you can sketch or draw your invention on paper and refer to the drawings; (b) you can scan your drawings into your computer and use them as part of the PatentEase program; or (c) you can import your drawings from another file and use them as part of the PatentEase program.
6. Where can I get PatentEase?
PatentEase is available here today. We ship by priority Mail.
7. Can I download the PatentEase program? Can I electronically file my patent application?
The PatentEase audio/visual files are so big that it is impractical to download them. Therefore, we provide the program on CD-ROM and mail it to you, along with a user's guide. The PTO permits filing of patent applications electronically. However, you must use the USPTO protocol (see the USPTO website), you must forward a check or money order for the filing fee, and you must handle drawings either electronically or in hard copy form.
8. What are the system requirements for PatentEase?
